My Neighbor Stole My Cat??!?
read my question about my stray cat. a tabby cat has been coming to my garden and my house for about a month. i've fed it and all, like it was my cat until yesterday. it wasn't there all day and i was worried and i thought it would be back...but it wasn't there today either and i thought my neighbor had taken it. i looked in his garden and there it was! it had a new BLUE collar (even though it's a girl!) i spent so much on that cat and now it's gone...my dad always told me not to get too attached to it and i think he's right! i can't believe my cat's gone! what should i do?!
it isn't his cat because it went next door a few days ago and i could hear him saying ' she's the most beautiful cat i've ever seen!' IT WASN'T HIS CAT IN THE FIRST PLACE OK!

I don't mean to offend you, but you had the opportunity to make it "your" cat. It was a stray, looking for affection and a good home. Apparently your father did not want you to take the cat into your home. It is very commendable that you took the initiative to make friends with the cat which is why it kept coming back to visit you. Apparently your neighbor took the initiative to adopt the cat and give it a good home. The only solution I see is to speak to your neighbor and see if you can visit the cat or perhaps your neighbor will let you play with it outside. That way both of you can enjoy the cat. Don't be mad at your neighbor for giving the cat a home. Now that the cat is safe and being looked after, both of you can enjoy him. Don't have bad feelings toward your neighbor for doing something your Dad wouldn't let you do. The cat remembers you and can still be your friend. He is not gone. Neither your neighbor nor you "owns" the cat. Cat's are independent and choose who are the special people in their lives. Both of you can take care of the cat.
