I spent 28 dollars on a feliway plug. How long before they start to work?
First, have the vet check out your cat to make sure she isn't having some kind of bladder problem. A bladder infection in a cat is not something you want to ignore.
If she's fine medically, then try the Feliway spray (don't spray it on the cat!, it's only for furniture and other places). The Feliway plug did not work for me either. For one thing, I don't think it emits enough of the pheromone, and for another, if you have windows or doors open that weakens its effect.
I would leave the Feliway plug plugged in (just because you paid so much for it, you might as well use it up) and use the spray on the bed and maybe in doorways or wherever else you think is a good spot. When she smells the pheromones it will calm her down, relax her and put her in a good mood. She'll purr.
But it's important to figure out *why* your cat is peeing on the bed. Is her litterbox clean? Cats hate messy litterboxes.
Is there something preventing her getting to the litterbox in time? In my case, one cat had been attacking the other cat while she was in the litterbox, so she ended up being too scared to go to the litterbox by herself. Do you have another cat that could be doing that?
Is she lonely? Do you leave her alone most of the day? Maybe this is her way of telling you she's not happy.
